Default 1999 stock ram 1500 5.9 what do you guys think of these mods

i have purchased an AIRAID Cold Air intak and i am thinking about buying a set of shortie headers , i use the truck for towing and looking for a little more power withouth breaking the bank and i know long tubes are a waste for low rpm applications thanks

I'm confused, your signature says v-10 but you have 5.9? V-10s shouldn't need much help

I guess I have to ask where you would like this power. Down low to get things moving, or up top to keep moving? The reason is that each area requires a different mindset.
The headers will help you in the mid range and upper rpm of your stock motor if you need horsepower to keep you moving for long hills or passing slower vehicles. They help some in the lower end, but not as much as other mods. Same with the air intake.
I would suggest a reprogramable programer like a SCT because the tuner that programs them removes your trucks built in torque management and frres up bottom end torque. This helps you get moving from a dead stop with a load and boosts critical acceleration up to 35 or 40 mph. Programs on these tuners can be adjusted for future mods as well.
