Default Backspacing on an 04 stock 20" rim (2WD)?

I looked and looked for this question, and I did find this thread: http://ramforumz.com/showthread.php?...ck+backspacing

but I'm still confused.

I've got an 04 1500 2WD with stock 20" wheels. I really want to get the Rough Country 3" lift for my 04 1500 2wd. According to the RC website, it will only work with stock wheels if they have 4.5" backspacing. I live-chatted with a RC rep and asked him if my stocks would work and he said "should." Hmm.

So does anyone know what the backspacing is on a stock 04 20-inch wheel? Would my wheels meet the requirement? Also, when they say 4.5" backspacing required does that mean "4.5 inches or more" or "4.5 inches or less."?

Sorry if these are stupid questions, but I'm new to this whole wheel and lift thing. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

Stock backspacing on your wheels is 5.5".

The offset is +19mm.

4.5" backspacing required means 4.5" backspacing required. Any more and the wheel/tire may rub on suspension components. Any less and it may rub the body.

I can't answer whether or not it will work. I would guess yes with stock tires but I would be leary of putting the max size according to Rough Country, which I believe is 35". Do a search for "Rough+Country+3+installed" or something like that. Hopefully someone who has done the install with your exact year and model has done it.

I have the same truck as you with the rc 3" installed. I'm running 275's on the stock 20's with no backspacing or rub.
Tire-275 60 r20 Cooper ST

I was told I need the bs for 33"x12.50
