Default 2009 6inch lift questions

First of all, hello everyone! I am new to the site.....first thread. I have a 2009 crew cab truck and I just bought a 6 inch lift kit from Rough Country. I am trying to decide what backspacing is needed for the 20" rims so wheels don't stick out too far. I am going with 37" tires also. Does anyone know how this will affect the speedometer and shifting in and out of overdrive on highway?

I see your only running a 4.7 , I'd watch how big you go on tires . If your gonna run the 37's your probably gonna be looking into running a set of 4.56's . As for the wheel backspacing , hopefully someone else can answer that for ya . Don't forget to stop by the newbie section and introduce yourself .

Welcome to the Z bro.

Ok if you have a 4.7 I would go with 35" tires.I would still regear for 4.56's. If not it wont like OD at all and there goes your mpg.

My speedo is off 5 mph slow in town 0-45 and off 10mph slow on the highwy 70+.
Are you running your stock rims? If your getting new rims I would get a -12 offset. I have -20 offset on my 20x10 with 37's and my tires stick out 4" past the fenders.

If you want to see what my truck looks like here is a thread it is on.My mods are on my sig.

I would recommend going with an offset of around -10mm to -20mm. I have a -18mm offset on my truck and the tires stick out perfectly. You have to look at the tire width as well. I have a 13.5" wide tire and with fender flares the tires still stick out. The most popular width is 12.5 so anything under -20mm you should be able to cover them up with flares.

I just read you were asking about backspacing. I know some lifts actually specify the max backspacing you can go with. The steering knuckles are smaller then stock so the backspacing needs to be checked. I know my rims have a backspacing of 4.8. Check what your lift kit specifies and go from there.

I have to agree with the other guys and say the 35" tires might work out a little better for you. Thats what I am running and with a 6" lift with 35s are a match made in heaven.
