Hi there, I just ordered a Magnaflow Exaust for the 2010 Ram 1500 Sport V8 Hemi and dual exaust. For the record the truck already has dual exaust. The part number ordered for the Magnaflow is 16869. First of all am I going to hear a huge difference in the sound as I'm hoping to hear and secondly will I see better fuel and horse power gains with this unit.
With just exhaust you will see no real gains in MPG or HP. I just bought a new 10 reg cab shortbox Hemi 4x4 and while having 2 pipes exiting the rear I had only 1 muffler. How did you score 2 and what is a Scat Pak?
A cat-back exhaust is nice mod, you'll definitely notice the difference in tone; sounds much better. More air flow is always a good thing. Add an intake & programmer, and you'll see more significant gains in HP and MPG
Indeed, An air intake and programmer are next but i was more just curious about how much more throatier the magnaflow was going to sound cause I could"nt find any sound bytes for it. As for the guy asking about the scatpak, It similar to the Bumblebee version just different.
always been a fan of flowmaster. that was till i bought a magnaflow. it sounds great. seems to be more responsive on take offs for me. what do i know though .. could b wishful thinking or the octane fumes. lol
So I picked up my truck from getting this exhaust put on yesterday as well had the K&N CAI installed to. So, I start the truck for the first time and was like "WOW" that sounded awesome. When I hit the gas though that's when you really feel and hear the Magnaflow do it's job. I am completly happy with it. At Idle, it's nice and quite but as soon as you hit the accellerator it sounds pretty mean. I spin the tires a little more now from a dead stop but not sure sure if that"s from the Magnaflow or CAI or a combo of both. So, for all those who want a mean muffler...Magnaflow works for me. I'll figure out how to post some pics or video for sound too.
