Default Bed rusting

WHAT IS GOING ON. I have noticed a lot of 3rd gen rams that the wheel wells rusting/bubbling.I thought maybe they were not taken care of.I washed mine over the weekend and noticed mine was bubbling on left rear wheel well.Mine is a 2006 ram 2500 sport w/45,000 miles on it with a 5.9,not even broke in yet.I was told when the lips were joined the had some type of foam/insulation between them.Took it to garage this morning and that is what they told me.If I am going to fix it I figured do both sides.Roughly $6,000.00 to do both sides w/factory sides.Anybody else have same problem and any help.I can not find a bed [up to a 2008] in my area, western PA.Any IDEAS.

Yep......this design flaw in our beds in the spawn of satan I tell ya....Mine was garaged its whole life and washed at least once a week and its starting to happen. Only thing to do is buy a whole new bed from FCA and have the truck repainted. Sorry.

OP if you get those fixed, I'd have the insides bedlined to avoid a recurrence.

BTW, how do you only have 45k on a 2006? I haven't even owned my truck 2 years and I'm already over 32,000.
