This is one of the few things I would never suggest someone try on their own. Usually looks crappy when done your self. Go to a city to find a good cheap tint place all the city boys w/ their imports get alotta tints so its always cheap and good there.

The rear window is the only one I would say was difficult to tint due to curvature, but by the time you buy quality tint and supplies and get the hang of it you may as well just pay a pro and get a warranty with it. From experience...ebay precut tint is a no-go... the tint is cut too small width wise...was for me anyways. I think I'll try to redo my windows in the spring, and if it doesn't work out, I'll just finally pay someone.

I've tinted all my vehicles myself (including my dodge). Patience, a blow dryer and lot's of soapy water are your best friends. It does take lot's of practice but hey, If you don't like how it turns out you can just peel it off and no harm done. So your out $20.....

I'm a little surprised at all the recommendations for shops. Where's all your spirit? I do mine myself. The first car I did was 22 years ago. I still own the car and the tint still looks like the day I put it on there. In all the cars I've done, I've only messed up one window. It was probably okay, but I was just being a perfectionist. I will say, if you do it, squeeze out only the air bubbles but don't squeeze out all the adhesive. Let the tint look a little ripply for a few days while it dries out it will smooth out. If you squeeze out all the adhesive you possibly, it will look fine now, but over time the adhesive will move around and build itself back up to a certain thickness, meaning that it pulls away from some areas to do that, and that's where the bubbles start up down the road. The first reason I did mine myself was because the shops wouldn't do 20% on the front windows because it's illegal here and I don't blame them for not doing that. If I were in the tint business I wouldn't do that either. The second reason is that I can buy a 100' roll and do three or four vehicles for the price of one professional job. I didn't need a third reason.

Vikefan- yea thats usually the case with the back window but mines the flat one all the way across with no rear sliding window so i would figure that one would be the easiest.

Capper- that tint job on your truvk looks great, nice job.

Oklahemi- Id pay $125 too but idk if i can find a place to do it that cheap.

Ive done it before, but now adays rather spend 100$ for the tint king to handle it. Always comes out great. Better quality product on your window, and even though ive gone darker with the pros, never got a ticket cause of it... My lighter self installed stuff rendered me a ticket target.

I have done it myself and it came out great but a couple of years later when they peeled I had to do them over. Now on the next car I had done I paid someone to do it. They did it in about half the time and when it peeled, they fixed it for free.
