Your mechanic is wrong. 30k is the interval. The Hemi has copper core plugs. DO NOT use platinum plugs in the Hemi - they can cause the coils to overheat and melt.

They aren't that bad once you've done it a time or two. I'd go with either Champion or NGK plugs.

If it's your first time it might take acouple of hours. No special tools are needed; just basic hand tools. The biggest asset is an assortment of extensions. There's really nothing to it. Just remove the air intake system and then it's a matter of removing the coils with a 10mm and changing out the plugs.

I like the 100,000 mile idea , it don't make my 113,000 miles sound quite as bad being it runs as good as it did new I will wait until it gives me an indication it would like new plugs . Maybe Superchips and never running regular helped me get to this point with no indication of needing plugs yet.

You might want to jump on this real soon. It's hard enough to remove the plugs at 30K....they kinda 'seize' into place. It is highly recommended to use anti-seize when the new ones go in.

You know the electronics are really doing their job. Despite the fact that your plugs are way over due, the electronics are keeping your vehicle running.....then one day......
