Black what material did you use, to be exact? I am commited to doing this to my truck now haha. And being in the northeast I could use to get rid of the chrome.

Not sure what you mean by material?

I used alcohol and a micro fiber to wipe down the wheels first,
2" painters tape to tape them off, and four cans of Plasti-Dip

I had to do mine! The dealer refused to replace my rusting rims under warranty, and I knew another brutal Winter here would have them looking like crap by next spring

For those that dont know, you can actually peel it off if you dont like it 100% reversable!
its not really paint...just a rubberized vinyl coating ...So DONT sand or scuff the wheels, just rubbing alcohol to clean them first.

You can even do your whole Truck if you wanted some serious Winter protection...

New pics, now that the sun Finally is out.
We got rain Everyday since I mounted my new PD'd wheels
So I finally got her washed up and tire shine applied...looks Much better now!

I'm a tire shine junkie, and it was a pain cleaning the over spray off the chrome all the time,
now I can hit the wheels with the same product and just give them a quick wipe with a small sponge and they're done!

I'm very Happy with the new look, for minimal cost.

How easy are the PD wheels to maintain???
It makes me nervous thinking about cleaning them
I plan on doing this in the Spring...Not a fan of chrome (going to my front and rear badges too, and like you mentioned, the tips with some sort of high temp paint etc)
Oh and the chrome bars in my grill.....................
