Default Just a ecm question.

I know this might be in the wrong section but i really gotta ask. I bought a reprogrammed ecm for my truck and its stock. I drove only 100 miles on it so far and failed inspection. They told me that 3 of the systems are stating they are not ready. Does it usually take this long for the computer to start working?

I don't know the full details, but do know that it requires a few 'cycles' to get all the systems in a ready state. I believe it is 3 full cycles.....

Then my ecm must be a faulty one.. cause i had started and stopped it over about 30 times from trips to stores. I just want to pass inspection lol.

It's not the number of trips, or the number of times it's been started. It requires 'Drive Cycles'. These 'Drive Cycles' and different for different vehicles.

Here is what I had to do for my 04 -

With less than 3/4 tank, and more that 1/4 tank of fuel (to run the evaporative emmission monitor)
Let truck sit over night to fully cool.
Start in morning and let idle for 15min. (Run evaporataive emissions test)
Drive to nearest highway and run (on cruise) at 60mph for 15mins.
Pull over and let truck idle (in Drive) for 2 minutes with brake pedal depressed.
Drive on highway for 5 more min. at 60mph (on cruise).

That ran all my monitors.....but like I said....that was an 04, your might be different.

If you have a code reader that shows the monitors, you could check them before you start, and wee where they're at after a drive.

Hope this helps some....
