Default Just installed a Mufflex

I just got done installing my retro fit Mufflex DOD14M exhaust. Lucky for me I live in NJ and Mufflex is in Trenton so I ordered it yesterday morning and in less than 36 hours later it is on my truck. The install was simple especially with a helping hand and took about a half an hour if that. I do like the tone of the Magnaflow muffler but was somewhat disappointed in how loud it is and was looking for the tone to be a bit louder. I thought it would be because my father has a 03 Hemi Ram 1500 with a larger Magnaflow muffler in size than the 14 and it is louder. Im thinking the reason is the resonators or what ever they are called that are just before the tips are keeping some of the tone back. I think this exhaust will be plenty for now and I will learn to like it more as I drive with it. I definitely plan to buy the Mufflex DODM80 in the future after I get my truck to look as aggressive as those pipes will sound. I did do some before and after clips so hopefully I can get them posted in the future.

Great job, thanks for posting the details of the install and your first impressions. Remember, pics or it didn't happen.

you can always remove the resonators and see if you like it then before ordering a different exhaust

I have the 18 from mufflex. Dont worry. Give the muffler time. It will get louder in a month . The internal packing will disapate and the sound does get nicer and louder. If you dont believe me call mufflex and they will tell you the sam thing. I had mine installed at mufflex in september.

I was told at the mufflex shop to infact LEAVE the resonators on because when the ECO turns on it sounds horrible.

turn off MDS!

I ran a delete pipe for a while - loved it! Then I put the stock muffler back on and installed a cutout. Best of both worlds there.
