I like the idea of doing it this way... Do it once and its done right (without any extra "add-on" aftermarket stuff...)

The big question is how much a dealership is charging for this full procedure. Assuming we already have the non-nav touchscreen. Anyone have any pricing?

-btw, awesome forum and lots of great information!
Yes, Meador Dodge in Fort Worth, TX sold it to me for $280, they wanted $110 for install, but as I was just buying the truck, they installed it for free. I just paid for my 2011 Big Horn Ram today, and was suposed to pick it up, but they said the wire harness for the camera was still not in. It's supposed to be ready by tomorrow by 14:00. I'm glad to see your post though, as that is why I made sure the camera was on that 430 radio system.

i see your point gregster. if you already shelled out for a radio with a screen it is worth the extra money to do it right. for those with the basic radio you cant go wrong for under 100 bucks and less than an hour install.

Well, getting this camera installed on the truck is what they say is delaying delivery. I bought it on Saturday. I paid for it on Tuesday and was supposed to pick it up the same day. They said the camera required a wire harness that was on order, but it would all be installed and I could pick it up today, Wed.. Now they tell me it had to have the computer reprogramed for it all to work properly, then cleaned up for delivery. So now I won't be able to pick it up until Saturday. My thought is they are waiting for my check to clear before they give it to me. I checked tonight when I got home and it still hasn't cleared my bank. It's difficult to believe it takes this long to install, rails, radio, camera, and detail a new truck!

Win,
What does your dealership charge for the complete install, part kit, labor, and upload? I have been quoted varoius amounts. Is it a difficult install that an incompetent tech could really screw up. Appreciate your help.

I was quoted $900 by my dealer, about $300 in parts and the rest labor. Needless to say I will attempt it myself for $600 in labor costs.

I was quoted 6 hours labor to install both the backup camera and the power locking tailgate.
