Smile Rear disk brake conversion?

I was wondering if any later model rear disk brake assemblies will fit a 1994 2WD drum rearend? Or must the entire rearend be changed out? I have seen aftermarket conversions for about $550.00. Is that the best way to go? On the same topic (brakes) anybody got a recommendation for a front disk upgrade. Stock just seems a bit small and prone to overheating too easily.

Thanks,

Gerber

I can say about the conversion kit, as I'm not too familiar with the 2nd gens, but for a pad/rotor upgrade, I'd suggest checking EBC. I run their sport rotors and greenstuff pads and I'm suitably impressed by their stopping power compared to the stock.

it looks like ssbc might be really good. it seems like they can also help retain your parking brake. i like the idea of keeping the parking brake for that what uf scenario parked on a steep hill.
