Default extended warranty ??????

Hey ..

Just got my 2010 ram .......has 4000 miles on it ......5/100000 powertrain warranty..
Does the extended warranty void the 100000 mile powertrain warranty..

Also sre the extended warranties really necessary????? I know its piece of mind and all.....I probably will keep this truck for 4 or 5 years I got a great deal on it ........it was a demo with 3700 miles on it.....

Thanks

5/100000? I haven't heard of that one yet. The extended warranty won't void your factory warranty. Is the extended offered through a different company than Chrysler? Will it extend your bumper to bumper coverage or just the powertrain?

The extended warranty does not void the factory warranty. Most run parallel to the factory warranty, then cover certain systems beyond the basic warranty.

A "MaxCare" warranty from Chrysler Service Contracts covers a LOT of systems and parts not covered by other aftermarket warrantys.

Yeah, they pay off. A transmission, differential or engine rebuild or replacement is a lot more expensive than the premium you pay for the warranty.

There are a lot of offerings out there. Read them all carefully to determine what they cover and, more importantly, what they DO NOT cover and what the deductible is.

Personally, I'd avoid aftermarket warranty companies. I've seen too many repairs made with questionable parts.

If it extends your bumper to bumper, it might be worthwhile. Don't be afraid to haggle on the price, it might pay off.

I haggled on mine. The dealer wanted twice what I would have paid online at Chrysler Service Contracts. Showed the dealer the premium and he gave in...LOL

Mine did too. Got the Max Care 7yr 100,000 mile for $1405, started at $2995. As it's transferable, if I have to sell it, the Max care should make that easier, and probably get more.
