Default Chrome Handle Covers - Not Sticking???

I picked up a set of Chrome door handle & tailgate covers off eBay.

The Chrome surrounding the handle sticks on just fine....... I'm having a hell of a time getting the chrome HANDLE to stick on without popping off.

Has anyone used these plastic chrome covers and run into this issue? I'm thinking maybe use some thicker 3M trim tape than the 3M tape that came on the handle covers?

This is what I've gotten done so far.... minus the handles:

Did you prep the handles so the tape will stick?

Wipe the 2 surfaces down with some rubbing alcohol. Then hold the pieces together for about a minute or so.

Rubbing alcohol, 3M tape, and pressure for 30 seconds and you're good.
