Default no heat....brrrrrrrrr

03 2500 diesel with luke warm heat at best. I have already been through the blend door problem, flushed the heater core, back flushed the block and radiator, relaced the thermostat, made sure coolant level was right up top, and even tried the old cardboard in front of the radiator. On a 30 degree day the temp gauge finally reaches just past the 200 mark and air from the heater/defroster is warm certainly not hot. I have found if I put the trans in tow mode and keep the rpm's up around 2000 it works the best. I am considering a new water pump because of this.
By the way, never had an overheating problem last summer with temps near 100.
Any ideas? I love the truck but..............

well you said your blendor and blower is good?...... did you do a fluid flush and clean?? or a driveway drain and fill?? have you tryed messing with different degree thermostat's...... your thermostat may be staing open and the motor is able to run warm enough to heat properly.

Check the temps of the heater hoses. While both should be hot, one should be between 15-30 degrees cooler from the exchange of heat through the core. If you don't see that much difference, you may have an obstructed core.
