I guess that i should check out my jack sometime, just in case
I always have a shop jack with me, its a light weight 2 1/2 ton from Craftsman, jack comes in a hard plastic case.
I don't like the jacks provided by vehicle manufacturers, mostly because you have to have the vehicle high enough to get the jack underneath to a proper jacking point, we have very soft road shoulders here

Yes, definitely put some antisieze on that wing bolt as it is exposed to the elements only takes a few seconds to do it. Seems like common sense but, everytime I get a new or new to me used car. I find the jack, figure out how to use it, make sure I know where the recommended jacking locations are, make sure I can get the spare tire released etc.... I've never had a flat in ideal conditions, usually in the dark, freezing rain, on unflat ground.

Brand new never used jack never seen moisture still has factory crease and almost collapses, hardly a grease issue. I think they should have a good bottle jack instead of these crappy things.

Default Jacks

I purchased a pneumatic jack for my 1500, I keep it in my bed, in a nice poly bag along with jumpers, 2 cans of "flat fix stuff", flares, "survival kit, etc, etc and when I go on long trips I also throw my spare in the bed. I learned a long time ago it will be hot, humid, cold, dark, raining, snowing, in the middle of nowhere, or even tornadoes when I get a flat. I'm close to 60 and cannot deal with the OEM jack and trying to use it when I need it most, and it breaks or whatever. That's why I keep my spare in the bed, it really bites to have to lower it from under the bed when its in one or more of the conditions I listed above.
I also have a DC impact wrench for taking off and replacing the lugs.
The lug wrench, and jack came to about 200 but well worth it.
