Default Dakota anyone???

so here's what i did. since i cant afford a decent ram right now i'v been looking at the dakota. i'm in the middle of making a deal for a cute little truck. it's a 2002 with 85k. quad cab and it has the V6. getting it for a decent price and hope to be able to trade up to a ram in 2 or 3 years.
does anyone have any experience with the dakota? anybody know anything about the V6? comments? advice? anything?

I think that is an excellent choice. Very decent miles for that year too (about 10,500 per year according to my calculations). They are terrific trucks and have the same reputation for being "Ram tough" as their big brothers. You should check out our new DakotaForumZ as well!

I had an 2011 sxt Dakota 4.7 4x4 for 15 days and I was never so happy when I got my Ram back. Even with the v8 it was lacking in power, the interior was inferior, seats were to soft, cabin was cramped and well lets just say I would never buy one, even a brand spanking new one. Having said that, it's your money and you are aiming for a Ram so all in all I guess you could do worse. Good luck!

To me the 4700lb Dakota with 310 hp did not seem like it had enough get up from a stop, hell the tires would not even squawk from a dead stop on dry pavement.
