Programmer, new air filter and smoother intake pipe (stock air intake is a great design already, just needs a straight pipe instead of the crumpled hose from the box to the throttle body), 180 degree thermostat, and changing out the Y-pipe/muffler is going to be best bang for the buck.

Hey bro, what type of pipe are you going to put on? I've heard a lot about the stock exhaust being just fine (stainless) just a muffler is needed.

Also, on the air box, did you custom build the air tube or is there a place you had ordered it from?

thanks,

Mike

It's going to be a bit before I do anything to my intake. I'm working on a system that uses the factory scoops in the sport hood.

Is it gonna be mass produced or an one off thing? I would love to have something that uses the scoops

So does that mean we can use 6.1 parts like intake manifold and headers?

Edit: Found a kit from moe's that allows use of 6.1 intake manifold

So far my mods list is:

Long tube Headers
Cutouts
Mufflers or full exhaust
6.1 intake manifold(is it worth it?) or upgraded 5.7
CAI
Tune
Heads and cams
Better lsd (Truetrac)
Thermostat
Forced induction(maybe)
Tune

Anything else I should add?

Definitely, good choices with your list above. The main difference with the 6.1 intake are the long runners. They make more HP in the higher RPM band. I am avoiding it because my particular desire is to have gobs of HP and torque down low.

Anybody know if they make a supercharger or turbo kit for our trucks yet?

Also I need some exhaust advice, should I go mufflers, catback, straight pipe, or dump the exhaust and have the stock tips mounted in factory position? I would add a cutout on them

Power adders such as those have been slow to market. I think mostly because of the higher compression ratio of the new Hemi vs. the old. Doesn't take much boost to get in a dangerous area pressure-wise with these engines. I heard Magnuson is working on one... but it's had some delays.

Best bang for the buck on our exhausts seems to be replacing the Y-pipe and muffler. You could dump the exhaust if you like, but then there will be those two cutouts in your factory bumper where the tips were.

What's the compression of these motors? And if I dump the exhaust then I'll have the factory tips fabricated in the stock position
