Alright guys well the numbers dont lie i just drove 750 miles half of which was about 60 degrees outside and the coolant temp never got above 179 which is what i have the fan set at. As for how i can control the temps i do this with my Diablosport tuner its very simple just set the temp pretty self explanitory. I m not sure how it will hold up in summer heat i guess we will find out around may or so. For most of the drive i was doing 75+ and from omaha to kansas city i was runnin about 90+. The pcm is finally starting to figure out what has happend and the MPG gain is more noticable now. Was at 15-16 now its 18ish on the highway. So yeah if you have a 180 stat and a tuner i say go for it and see for your self.

Nice. What do you think you'll get at 70 mph?

That was about what i was getting at 70 mph, 18ish or so. Also it has seemed to make the shifting i smidge smoother. I dont know if it really is doing this or the fact that the engine is just running freely now.

I doubt anyone would have any trouble driving down the highway even without the electric.

Ive got my fan set to 204 now and it doesnt come on (this time of year), even when puttering around town. 199 it's on all the time, 204, no (OEM stat)

Summer stop and go will be the true test regarding wether or not the electric can keep up on its own.

regardless, it's a great mod. and if it doesn't hold up in the summer, you could either put the clutch fan back on or get another electric fan to supplement the oem one. either way. it's saving you money NOW on gas and getting you more power which are always a plus!

I think that unless you get stuck in some major stop and go summer traffic you'll prob be ok. I ran my wrangler with an electric fan for 10+ years. It was wired to an on-off switch b/c I was too cheap to install an e-fan thermostat back in my college days. lol. Just had to keep a close eye on the temp gauge.

you got me wantin to run out to the garage and zip mine off with the impact just to try it....I still have the stock t-stat installed.
