Scanner required, are you talking "Starscan". Gotta be another place, other than the dealership.

Well update on my truck everybody. My truck was throwing the same codes as HeavyHooks. Turned out the problem was that the filter fell out partially causing the low pressure. Got a new filter in there and everything is working great again. Hopefully this can be helpful if anyone else ever experiences the same problem.

Same here. I towed it to the tranny shop, diagnosed as the "O"'ring that assists the one lonely bolt securing the filter had become worn. Allowing the filter to drop... In turn killing the line pressure, then throwing a code. It seems Dodge is aware of the faulty design of this O ring, will be taking no action.
On a good note, the replacement O ring supplied by my tranny shop is about double the material thickness, allowing it to seat further into the mounting hole. All is well again. Cost of repair, $143.00 and two hours in the shop. Towing was free, hence the name...HeavyHook...I own a towing company.

I'm facing the EXACT same situation as you guys. Guess these will be some places to look first before doing the tranny swap that the dealership wanted to do for a small fee of only $2,000 I about crapped twinkies when they told me that...but they didnt even look at the truck when they told me that price and what they wanted to do....needless to say, I walked out on 'em to get a 2nd opinion. Hope all is well with my truck too. I had LITERALLY the same issue...drove it one night and the next morning was bitter cold (18F) and the truck was acting up. I'm just glad theres a forum full of great people willing to help!

After reading what you guys had issues with and what you did to fix them, I too was having the same issues so I figured I would try the Trans. filter and fluid change....well, so far so good. Tomorrow is the true test for me when I drive 30 miles one way to work. Hopefully it's all ok now.

i notice all 4 of you have 2006's..i'm new at this whole thing but is it a safe assumption it can happen in 05's .. also did anyone get to drive down the road at all? because after going in reverse down my driveway and turning around i put my truck in drive n noticed i didn't hit 2nd gear.. i took a right n started up a slight grade to find out the engine was revving real high so i pulled over n turned it off. turned it back on and i only have neutral and park .so got the truck back and just playing around i noticed after letting it run it for a minute i also got the check engine light. i noticed however when i went through reverse neutral drive etc i didnt hear it engage(or whatever you would call it) to the engine ..ne one else also experience this?

regardless this thread has been real helpful..after looking this up online for about 2 and a half hours today i finally found something that even relates..thanks guys

I would assume it could/would happen in a '05 as well. I spent roughly $80 for everything once I bought the trans. filters and fluids so thats alot cheaper than anything else and you can do it yourself. Is the weather cold in your area? Notice any slipping? When I had my issue, I backed outta the drive and put it in Drive...it wouldnt sound like it was engaging but I would hit the gas...it would almost act as if it was a kid driving a manual trans. and she'd stutter...but it would move...didnt slip though. It's tough to explain lol. I would def. start with the tranny filters and fluids since its cheap and you can DIY. Good Luck!
