Default Starting Diesel

Just got a cummins 3500. Do I need to wait to start it? I don't think they have glow plugs, but I have heard there is some other reason.

Any help greatly appreciated.

My 2500 has an icon on the dash that illuminates upon start up when there is a need for the glow plugs to warm. If there is no icon, then my understanding is, there is no need to wait to start. Usually in the winter months, it is necessary. Have you posted pics of your truck? Sounds like a beast. I am on a 6" lift with 37's Toyos!

Sweet looking truck man, thanks for the pic! icOVERu I believe is right, the diesels I have had the fun of driving, there was a light that came on on the dash when it was ready to start, not sure about the newer ones, though.

Thanks guys. I just looked in the manual and it said in colder weather a "WAIT TO START" light comes on. I guess it doesn't get any easier than that. I don't know why I didn't look in the book to begin with.
