Default Thinkin' about doing some line-x on the body... your thoughts?

After a run-in with a Volvo in December that left a nasty gouge in my passenger door, I've been considering doing some line-x on the body to cover the imperfection and give it some added toughness. I'm thinking of starting it at the front fenders, going to just below the door handles on the front doors, then tapering down to the rocker panels and going all the way back to the rear bumper.

Has anyone else done something similar? Anything you recommend over Line-X? I'm also a bit concerned about fading over time.

On a side note, I'm having some custom nerf bars and bumpers made up at a later date. I'm gonna make this beast a tank! haha!!

Here's a pic of the damage, just to give you an idea of what I'm dealing with...

Up here in Missouri, a few of my good friends that build mud truck Rhino Line/ Line-X the whole body and it auctly looks good lol. and its tough as hell. They have rolled them and it will crush body pannels and and stay on. I was thinking about doing some "rocker pannels" in a rhino-liner.

Nice reference, Werm. I am thinking about doing some Rhino-lining or rugged lining to my truck, just not the typical areas. Curious.....hmmmm.......
Thanks.

I was just at the NHRDA Race, Show and Shine at Ennis, TX last weekend and saw a lot of show trucks with it on them and you had to look hard to see that it was there and they did not have a ding or chip
So if they are using it ... then it must be what they found that works

Thanks, guys! Yeah, I've seen a couple jeeps and land cruisers that have been totally Line-X'd, or Rhino Lined, and it really doesn't look bad. I know I can also have it color-matched to my truck, but I'll probably stick with the standard black to make it look a bit more bad ass. Like I said, I'm just worried about fading over time. Has anyone had it in their bed or something for a number of years?

The Line X holds up better than the rhino lining. Rhino lining is alot softer. I plan on line xing my rockers in a couple weeks

Rhino liner runs on upright surfaces
Line_X doesn't, it also can be color matched or real close to it, here are some pictures of it on vehicles, the first pictures are of truck beds, & the rest are bumbers, fenders, rocker panels, grills, fenders, etc.
they also do speaker boxes or just about anything else
http://www.linex.com/gallery/list-image.php?=&album=23
they also can do stencils, like a Ram head, your favorite football team logo, etc

Rhino Linings doesn't run on vertical surfaces. I have had many items sprayed with Rhino Linings. It is true you probably would want to use TuffGrip on your rocker panels because it is made to reduce cargo slippage, but they have four other products that work great for rocker panels and outside body work.
