Default Check Engine light

I bought my truck in August 2009 new. When winter came & temp's got down to the -20s my Check Engine light started to come on. The truck is Plugged in when not in use so all is nice & warm. Someone told me to put her in the garage for a while & this cured the problem. This year the same thing is happening. Anyone got any ideas why this could happen ??? All gauges are showing good & no trouble code's showing.

If your check engine light has come on , it should of stored a code . Just because the lights out doesn't mean there's no code . Get it scanned and let us know what the code is .

I believe the predator has the ability to (most tuners do) access trouble codes . I'm not 100% sure because I have my own scanner .

Hey Hey Hey Tom,just plugged the tuner in & it came up with PO300 Random Misfire. Cleared it & light has gone out. Truck is going in for HVAC Reacall on Friday so i will try & find out why it came up in the first place. Thank's for the help.

Before you take it in , put the stock tune back on the truck . Don't tell them you had a tune on it . Tell them , someone checked and cleared the code for ya and that it was trouble code PO300 . Let us know how you make out .

I sure will Tom. Thank's again man. I'm thinking of putting the stock tune back on for the winter anyway. It might make life a little easier in the snow & ice.

Yes, let us know what you find out.

I had a Chrysler 300M that used to throw misfire codes whenever the cam sensor was on the way out. I went through cam sensors like I changed underwear (well, not really) with that vehicle, and am hoping the 5.7 doesn't have the same appetite for those sensors.

Truck went in today for HVAC Recall so i told them about the Missfire code but he said i should have not cleared it as they can't tell which Sensor caused it to pop up. Told me if it happen's again to just call in & they will take a look..........
