Default Blackberry Playbook

Anyone bag one of these yet?
I've been thinking of a tablet to take on the road to have quick access to excel and pdf docs. The Ipad2 doesn't quite do what I need it to and was hoping I could get an honest opinion of the playbook.

I have nothing of use to offer, but have nothing better to do at 4:30 in the morning. Maybe you guys could help me understand something though.
What is the point of these tablets? My boss has an iPad, and all that is is an oversized iPod. Its too small to be a computer and too big to be a phone. A laptop would serve its purpose easily. I assume the Playbook is the same? IDK, I guess if I have to have something else to carry everywhere its going to be a laptop that I can see a lot easier and do more with, otherwise Ill just handle whatever business I have on my Blackberry.

Here is my thoughts on the whole tablet idea. I'm in technical sales and find that all my suppliers etc. are no longer producing paper catalogs, everything is in pdf format now. So I was thinking a tablet would be great to take schematics and product info in to show a customer.
I find a laptop is actually to cumbersome and takes too long to boot up. Tablets are instant on and fast to load documents etc. The other side is also doing call reports and taking notes while in with the customer.
The ipad isn't business app friendly though. A couple guys at work have them and they aren't quite there yet. I was hoping the playbook would be the business tool that the blackberry phones are.

Thank you for clarifying that. I can see it being beneficial in your application. Most people I see walking around with a tablet only has it to keep up the status quo. My bosses iPad cant even handle our in office documents effectively and at this point he only has it to say that he has one. Ive played with it and have to say its not impressive at all, as I said earlier, an oversized iPod. Check out www.crackberry.com for info on the Playbook. (an aside: am I the only one that thinks Blackberry could have picked a better name for that thing?)

Well it's now officially on my wish list. Forgot about the crackberry site, thanks for the link bigdaddy! The bridge feature is what sold me. We all use blackberry bolds at work and this is perfect for us roadwarriors. Being able to search the web via bridge will be worth it's weight in gold.

LOL. To this day, Tether is the best and most expensive app I have ever paid for, well worth it.

Mine is 3G enabled.....don't need a hot spot.

As a sound tech, I use mine to control the FOH equipment from anywhere in the room. Saves a lot of walking.
