Default 35 12.50 20s. spacer

So, I have bilstein 5100 maxed out in the front, now I'm going to do tires. I want to stick with my 20x9 stock alloys for now. I know to run 35s I need to put in spacers so I'm getting ready to order some from motorsport tech. My question is who is running this sort of set up? How big a spacer should I get, everyone seems to say minimum of 1/4 inch, but I was thinking of going closer to 1/2 an inch, anyone know of or had issues with that? And finally, is anyone running g 35 12.50 20 general grabber at2s, I can get a good deal on them and I don't want to go full mudder.

Thanks for any input, this site is a great wealth of knowledge and experience.

Order the 10 mm (0.393")spacers. I called and spoke with Lenny the owner. and that is what he recommended. Worked out great. Here's the link to my post with pictures: http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=188294 . -Glen

Good looking truck prattman. Thanks for the good advise. I emailed Lenny today and he got back almost right away, good sign for great customer service. Do you tow at all?

Just a 7'x14' utility trailer with ATV's occasionally. I bought an Anderson Alumistinger 3505 4" drop hitch from Amazon, and my trailer is perfectly level. http://www.amazon.com/Alumistinger-3...mistinger-3505 . -Glen

Chipmaker, what wheels are you running though? Also what tires, some 35s are narrower and shorter then others?

Prattman, I have a load equalizer hitch, worked great with the factory suspension, so now I just need to flip it and readjust for the new hight. I'll probably add air bags at some point just as a bonus.

10mm spacers are the largest you want to go without going to an adapter type spacer. Anything larger and you aren't getting enough thread engagement on the lug nuts.

Also, chipmaker is running very small 35's (which he fails to mention every time he posts that) on stock wheels. They likely measure 34x12 mounted up. Very few 35x12.5 tires will fit on stock rims without spacers. Generally they need at least 1/4" but some won't even fit with that. All depends on the tire and the truck.

What do you folks think of going down to an 8mm spacer? Enough to clear, but not to much to weaken the suspension?

There won't be any difference between an 8mm spacer and a 10mm spacer suspension wise. We're literally talking about ~ 1/16" here... And either way, these spacers will not weaken your suspension.
