Once production orders are updated (I think that happens weekly), you should get a quick notice of your truck entering the production cycle at least 1 week, probably 2 weeks, before it actually is built.

Any dates prior to that are subject to change by a few days. Also, your production cycle may come in a bit later as you have some holidays to account for during that period.

With your order date being today, and if the deal was signed, I suspect your order won't hit the que for a production cycle assignment until later this coming week.

I'm planning on adding weight for the winter. I've got a set of new take-off's 17" wheels and tires with less tha 50 miles on them. There is less than 1" difference in height so they will work good. You should think about a lowering kit because the R/T's sit too high. I put on McGaughy's 2" & 4" springs and love the new stance of the truck.

Great advice and thanks man! I haven't been able to find one in Toronto to try out, but from pictures your right it does look a little high (and guess the 22's add a bit more) and could use a lowering kit.

I didn't order the side steps because I think it looks better without the chrome bars (and also want to de-badge the "RAM1500" door stuff like you have done) ........ but my wife has trouble getting in my 03 RAM now, so she wants me to get the dealer to add the steps when it comes in.

What do you guys think about the chrome step rails on the R/T? I guess I could get them powder coated in black, but maybe lowering the truck with the McGaughy's kit would do it.

You don't happen to have before / after pics to show off the lowering kit do you? No worries if not.

congrats on your new purchase!
i ordered my new ram on the 11th, and being as i am from ontario too (about 35kms west of kitchener/waterloo) you are quite lucky that yours is only gonna take about 8 weeks! i realize i am getting a laramie and yours is an R/T but they told me itd be middle to end of february. (about 12-15 weeks) i wish it wasnt so long but i know it'll be worth it once it gets here!

Here is a picture of before and after the Mcgaughy lowering kit. I measured the bottom of the wheel opening before (front 36" & Back 39")
after (front 34" & back 35 1/2")
