Default New to me 09 TRX4

I am finalizing the purchase of this truck. I have spent a lot of time on this site searching and researching mods (this is a nod to the grizzled forum veteran that responds to every new person's post telling them to do a search). Here is what I am thinking about:

It needs the tow hitch added am I am going to install the factory unit.

It needs nerf bars and I am going to put some black ones on. I don't think the dodge units are dark enough to match the black truck from the pics I saw.

It needs a cheap cap for the back that I will only use on trips.

It needs a bedliner although I have not decided which type.
It has the single exhaust which I may change if I can get something close to the stock duals and not mess with changing the bumper. I don't want it to be too loud.

I will probably put the Invision 8" dual DVD system in for my kids.

It has the 17 in wheels and tires which I think look a little weak compared to the 20s. I may look at different wheels or look at painting these black and just putting a bigger tire on. From what i have read 34s may be possible but 33s are the best bet. I drive on the beach when I am in the Outerbanks so a good tire for sand would be helpful. If a good sand tire is a bad snow tire I will probably end up with two sets.
I would like the truck to be level but I have read too much about problems to mess with this now. Other than maybe doing that when the bugs are worked out for the TRX I don't want the truck lifted.

This is a great site and I am glad I found it!

the tow hitch i would go with mopar or Reese they make a great product decently price.

nerfs bars i have set that was on my old truck and you could do what i did.....i got a set that were plain steel and i bed lined them my self strong and looked great.or if you looking just to buy check 4wheel parts they have great stuff.

for the cap extang makes a good cheap cover they run like 220.

now if you want really professional look liner then i would get it sprayed rhino or line x about 400 to 600...... or herculiner i have used myself before cheap easy but take you time and it will come out great around 100 to 200. or you can get the dodge insert liner looks and works great i got mine for like 460.

if you dont want the exhaust to be loud but have duals.....buy the tips you want or the mopar tips and you could get there muffler.... dont know the price but you also could get aftermarket like dual chamber and keep a resonator on the exhaust if thats what you want and have your local muffler shop weld it all up with pretty cheap.... now one full idea would be do just get the mopar tips then or which ever you want and you could just split it into duals from the muffler this would be the easiest cheapest but you would have to loose the resonator and that will add some sound not alot but it will be slightly louder.

rims i would either powder coat my current rim and get the big tires (cheaper) or find someone whos selling there dodge 20s and get a good deal.

now tires if you really spend time on the road and the sand my buddy had these and there performed great in the sand and on rocks as well as there wonderful in the snow! did well in mud but not awesome....... and still were great on road as well they are the Super Swamper Trxus STS All Terrain Radial...... he loved them and they performed better than any of us would have thought...... now if you keep your 17 inch rims your tires will be a little cheaper these will run you about 265 to 278 per tire...........but i have also heard the BFG All Terrains perform well in these conditions but i have no personal experience or friends to vouch there a little cheaper to.

well i hope this helps you out some.

Someone (I think it was HarleySarge) is selling a set of 20's). Check the for sale threads near the bottom of the main ForumZ page.

I dont think a bed rug will work because I will have the cap off almost all of the time. It does look sweet though.
