Unhappy what do you guys think? HEMI time?

ok so my truck has been giving me problems for a few months (notorious 4.7 head blew on me) might have seen my posts about getting the High Output heads and cams. but ive really been debating with myself. I was thinking about going to the dealers around here and seeing about financing on a 2007 or 2008 1500 HEMI. most of them are priced between $20,000and $26,000 at reputable dealers. highest payments i can make are about $315-$325 a month. after i fix the heads should i just sell my truck outright after winter? then get a HEMI? or should i try and do it right after i fix my truck so no more problems are on me? just need to cut my losses and start fresh.
WITH A WARRANTY!!

(i would've gone with another 4.7 if i didnt get so many problems. and you guys pointing out the flaws. which the forum has helped alot)

would really appreciate the feedback guys

I don't see many advantages with sticking w/ the 4.7. Not really much difference in MPG. They are a grand or 2 cheaper though . The Hemi has quite a bit more power and torque. I just bought my 07 Ram back in September. Got a really good deal from Olathe Dodge in Kansas. Don't know where you are at, but if around the Midwest, check them out as they always have a lot of pre owned trucks available. Got mine for 17K plus trade (95 2DR Jeep Cherokee Sport). So my payments aren't too high. I think you could definitely find a hemi in your price range and I would recommend it.

just got back from test driving that truck. wow is it SO much different. even being a heavier quad cab i could just feel and hear power i would end up paying 360 a month. but they will hold my payments off till march if i decide to take it

so are they willing to take your 2002 in trade? I would try to make a deal with that included so you don't have the hassle of fixing or trying to sell yours later...

im better off selling it outright. im already knee deep in fixing it so im just gonna get it fixed and sell it off. plus ill get more that way instead of trade in (still owe on the loan) im gonna talk it over and see what i shall do.. i might come home with a new truck tonight but ill probably wait a little bit

That's the payment you'd get financing about $17,000.00 ($320/mo at 5% int)

http://www.bankrate.com/calculators/...alculator.aspx

You'll need $5000-10,000 down to get in that range.

$20,000 at 5% interest for 5 years is $377 a month.

Your interest and length of the loan will make all the difference.

If you are going through a dealer, I would definitely walk out a time or too. If they really want to sell it they will come down.

I bought my 2007 QC Hemi in Houston, TX with like 25,000 mile on it for $13,888.00. I feel like I stole it from them! You might check their website cause they always have good deals and they can ship to you if you can't come to them. www.texasdirectauto.com They were great to work with and even picked me up from airport when I flew in. I would deffinately go with the hemi though! Good Luck!
