Just curious if this helps to enable Nav inputs while driving. I don't give a toot about watching vids, but on a road trip, the passenger could not scan nearby towns for near by fuel stations or search towns past the first screen. It would be nice to not have to pull off the freeway to search locations due to need to being in park to access all features in Nav. Thanks for any input.

As Momud said earlier, you can solve all these conrtol issues with an aftermarket Allgig or Mygig Lockpick. These mount behind your radio (some work involved) and you'll be able to have full Nav capability, see any video source and your rear camera (if equipped) on demand.

I went with the Lockpick ($250) and am very pleased. Toggling the rear camera has been useful, my wife (or passenger) can search or enter addresses in the Nav, and with 3 video sources (DVD, Sirius TV, & FloTV) we can have any combination of the 3 showing up front or on the rear drop down screen. GREAT for long trips!

The Lockpick has made our Ram the most popular ride in the family.

It will. Quick note. Dont buy the lockpick from the manufacturer. They charge full price (bout 350). Got mine from a company called sonic electronix. for about 200 with the av cable

I have a lockpick that I used on an 08 Jeep Wrangler. Im not talking about the in motion disable that is standard Im talking about the disabling of the video system done at the dealership with their star scan machine that shuts off all video, regardless of being in park or not.

Ya, your in one of those silly states that doesnt let you have what you pay for. If you still have your pick from your jeep, you may wanna try it out of the ram, not sure on the buss speeds between the 2.

Thanks for the help, I'm going to give the Lockpick a try. If it doesn't work I will give my salesman a call and remind him that I bought two loaded vehicles from him personally.
