Chops is infamous around these parts
Default MDS rarely ever comes on?

So i've got a 2011 1500 QC 4x4 and my buddy has a 2010 1500 QC 4x4.

both trucks are bone stock.

When we're driving in his truck, MDS will come on on a flat road and stay on if he's cruising at around 110KPH or less. When i do the same in my truck, it barely ever comes on. only on little downhill sections in the highway, or if i'm only doing about 85~90KPH.

Was wondering if anyone had an explanation? I'm thinking maybe the truck "learns" your driving style and adapts accordingly, so maybe if i disconnected the battery for a few mins and reconnected it, it'd reset the system?

Also, i've only got about 5500km's on my truck, so maybe it's not broken in yet. mileage i'm getting now is
mixed city/highway = 17L/100km
highway with cruise set @ 110KPH = 15.5L/100KM
Except last weekend on a road trip i saw it get down to as low at 14.1L/100KM. Might have had a solid tailwind.

Any info would be great! thx

Do both trucks have the same rear end gears. There's nothing you can reset that will change the MDS operation.

hmmm, i dunno about the rear end gearing. i rev at around ~1800rpm at 110kph and 2K at 120kph. so that would probably be 3.55?

Probably but I can't say with 100% certainty. Check you original window sticker for your gear ratio. If you don't have it, you can check front or rrear diff housings for a tag with the ratio on it. If you have to, call the dealer with your VIN and they can tell you.
