Default Cummins 24 valve power steering pump.

Hey all! Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! My concern today is my 99 3500 2 wheel drive dually's power steering pump. It appears to have developed a leak, but after I changed engine oil yesterday, I laid under and watched it while running the engine. It almost seems to be engine oil, as it is darker than p/s fluid and smells more like diesel crankcase. Leak appears to be coming out dead center of the pump. I only have had to add less than a pint in last 4000 miles, and steering is quiet when turning, no buzzing or noises. Truck has 158,000 miles on the odometer. Support our Troops! Dale

Get some dye and add it to your p/s fluid. Run the truck a few days and then check for leaks that glow from the dye.
