Default Trinity worth it?

I was wondering what you guys thought of the trinity vs buying the predator. Is there any benefit besides the fact that its a heads up display? Is the tuning the same and do they both come with the same tunes?

Really depends if you need real time monitoring as that's the only big thing the Trinity offers that I am aware of. But that's just by reading about the various tuners.

the tunes between the predator and the trinity are identical.

if I had to do it again, I might lean more toward the trinity, more for some of the "nice to have" features than anything else. Being able to mount the display to monitor stuff real time could be nice when trying to tweak the tune, but if you just want to install the tune and leave it alone, that probably isn't terribly useful. Being able to update the tool via usb right out of the box would be nice, instead of having to get extra cables and such to update the predator. (BTW, I would very strongly recommend getting the extra cables to connect the predator to your pc if you do go with the predator) I think the Trinity also has more memory than the predator, which will let you record data logs for longer than the predator. It also has little gizmos like a "virtual dragstrip", and can have some of the lights set up as a shift light- not sure if those would be useful, or end up being more novelty items.

So I'd say, if you want to just install a tune, and not fiddle with it too often, the Predator is your best bet. If you're going to be messing around with stuff, the Trinity might be worth the extra $$$

I bought the Trinity for my truck. One of the main reasons i made this choice is becuase of the many options it give's you for gauges. I do alot of towing, and most towers like to keep an eye out on special gauges like trans temp, oil pressure and more. The Trinity is pricey, but worth it if you use your truck like i do.

The realtime monitoring is the big seller for the trinity, I just wish it came with a better mounting system rather than just a suctioncup for the windshield.

They do sell a mount for it that will plug in to a 2 1/16" gauge pod, which looks pretty slick, and stable. Looks like the way to go if you happen to have a vacant spot in a gauge pod.

I bought a Trinity for my 2010 and it's nice. I've used a Predator before in GM's but I couldn't really tell you if a Trinity is worth double the price. I like to play with the drag strip thing and it seems to install ALOT faster than any Predator I've ever seen.
My friend has a 08 5.3l Chevy and swears a Trinity out performs a Diablo, but that's just his word.
