Default Installing Back-up Sensors

I have a 2010 Ram 1500 CC Big Horn that I'd like to install backup sensors in.

Here's the kit I'm considering:

http://www.autotrucktoys.com/ram/Mop...-PRD28569.aspx

Any thoughts on this kit?

Also, share your experiences of installing backup sensors. How big of a job is it? Should I just take it to a shop and have them installed?

Thanks!

Is it possible to get the factory parking assist? It's a sweet system.

It would be best to have the OEM sensor installed and flashed into system so they show up on the EVIC.

this is what the factory install looks like, i have the plastic bumper & they go in the same place

if you look at my trucks bumber, right of center, you will see a dent, sensors did NOT sense the corner of the building in time, they were replaced soon afterwards, 3 were bad, & i had them add a back up camera right after that

RamOwner,

I had the MOPAR backup system you’re looking at installed on my truck by the dealer thinking it was going to look like the factory system. I had them rip it out after I saw it and used it for a day. This is my opinion but the system looked awful and worked worse. The sensors on the bumper stick out almost two inches and look hideous, the display in the truck is the size of a hokey puck with lights on it and was mounted on the A pillar per the instructions (what dealer told me). I was 100% dissatisfied with this system both in looks and performance. It would start beeping like 15 feet from an object and then get faster till a steady tone which was about 5 feet from an object, this was useless to me as I can easily back my truck up to within 2 feet without a sensor system.

I ended up having the dealer install an aftermarket non-Mopar system with chrome sensors and a hidden speaker in the cab. It works awesome and looks better than any system I’ve seen (factory or aftermarket).

Just my opinion.

Thanks,

Pete
