Well as you all know my 05 QC Ram has been giving me a headache over the last little while. Poor gas mileage ( resolved with new EGR - nearly 25% better now with same driving and idle habits). Responsiveness and idle consistency with a new TB and the kicker I've been begging for help from everyone. The infamous stalling issues at operating temps when coming to a stop, even though no codes were being thrown.
The answer to the stalling - a Torque Convertor that was starting to fail, and wouldn't come out of lock up. In the beginning it wasn't so abrupt but last week it was bone wrenching when it would stall out.
I know Chrysler has received plenty of complaints about the 5.7 stalling without explanation and mechanics tossing parts at the problem without success but thank god I bought a warranty with the truck when I got it.
She's good as new and the inability to let loose in 1st way back when, burnt belt in the tranny.
Hope this points any of you suffering from the stalling Ram nightmare if it happens to any of you.
Happy holidays guys and thanks for your patience!
