I am no expert, but I have had multiple tranny issues with mine, never been a noid unfortunately.

I was told there was actually a safety thing on chrysler vehicles where if something wasnt right the computer wouldnt let it shift out of second, as sort of a "limp home" feature.

Once i solved all my tranny issues by replacing my TPS believe it or not.

2000 sport here... on my third 46re

its coming buddy, i just reached 120k, put my (#3) tranny in about 5k ago. basically threw everything at this one, shift kit, all new lines and cooler with check ball delete... external filter... I am no expert but I can remove a 46re in a matter of minutes with my eyes shut (only because rust keeps falling in them) upstate ny

Had mine rebuilt less than 15,000 miles ago by a master trans rebuilder . Installed a Transgo shift kit (installed all the latest updates) , heavy duty convertor , removed the anti-drain back valve also , flushed the complete system . I'm tired of this BS . I'm looking for a 5 speed donor truck .

Are these 46re's really that bad? I'm a Chevrolet guy new to the dodge world and i just picked my truck up about a month ago and it has 89k on the clock and has had the trans replaced already. Looks like this is sort of a common thing and bound to happen again. I'm thinking I should get rid of this truck and pick up a Silverado. i don't want to have to tear this trans out every 50k miles

i got my truck and it had an issue when i got i i did expect to rebuild the tranny. i had to shift it with my foot from first to second from 2nn up it worked fine. i changed the speed sensor on it cause the speedo did not work from 50 and below now it works and the trans problem went away after about 50 miles now it shifts great. ive put on about 500 miles and its still fine. coincedence or what i dont know but im pretty happy.
