yep, the 32 gallon tank in between about 1/2 to 3/4 level will give you that funny bumping sensation, i thought the worst until i read about it here back in December '09, the dealership looked for a problem, of course never found it

the gas filler thing had a memo on it around the beginning of '10

make sure that every problem that you notice gets mentioned to your service writer, & when they hand you the papers that you have to sign at the time that you pick up your truck from them, has what it was in there for is written on that paper,
Paperwork is your best friend, when you are picking the Ram up, don't be in a rush, walk all around it & look hard for scratches, dents, dings, dirty hand prints, etc.
If you notice something, don't get irritated & blow your top, go back into the office & simply mention it to your service writer, don't drive off the lot, always keep your cool & treat them with respect, just like you want to be treated. I believe i scared at least one service writer when i got mad at some little part of a service, it wasn't at all her fault, it was something completely out of her hands. I took donuts to them the next trip, hoping that they would forgive me. Now when i show up, i get my own service writer, same one every time

Thanks guys for all your input.I do have the 32 gal. tank, so maybe the movement of the fuel is causing the secondary bump when I stop. Just the other issues. The Transfer case
issue is another story. How a Drain plug/retaining pin falls out is beyond me.
This is a 44K MSRP truck. Oh and not to mention two weeks and counting to fix it.

FYI, If you are considering a Ram, Don't buy it from Huntington Dodge on Long Island, their service sucks

Sounds like QA/QC at both ends of the production and delivery cycles totally failed here!

Fuel filler separates from body when filling with fuel,
Here's the best, Transfer case drain bolt/clutch fork pin fell out while driving.
Oil all over bottom of my truck, and on the exhaust system.
A secondary bump in drive train about 1 second after stop, dealer has no answer.
Two weeks later wrong part ordered and truck still at dealer.
Called Dodge HQ, still no reply.

DODGE ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!!
RAM TUFF MY BUTT
sounds to me like you bought a truck that the dealer borrowed some parts from to fix another one......too many issues to miss in PDI......start calling them every day and they will get on the ball....

Man, looks like you you have had plain bad luck with your new Ram (I guess it happens from time to time). For all these issues with your truck, I would ask the dealership to make it up to you by giving you free oil changes, accessories or whatever. If they are a reputable dealership, they should try to make this right for you, beyond gettng the truck to the condition it should have been in the first place. Things happen and that's life. How a dealership makes a customer whole is what really matters in my opinion. I had trouble with a Ram 2500 I purchased at Herb Chambers in MA but through all the trips back and forth, they were great. They provided me a car when needed, arranged all the towing and dropped me off when I did not need a car from them. Because of this good service, I bought a Hummer and a few other trucks from the same dealership network.

Default This is why you don't buy from a non 5 star dealer

I went to all the Dodge dealerships on Long Island before I bought anything. I was happiest to give my money to Browns Dodge in Patchogue. Family owned business since 1917. I spoke to the president, Mr. Brown himself. Nice guy. The place is clean, no numbers games from the salesman TJ, no fuzzy math, a staight up no-nonsense, no pressure sale. My 2010 1500 laramie was delivered perfectly and without issue. I'm always sorry to hear about problems, but you always must go with a 5 star dealership. They are also supported much better by the manufacturer too.

Maybe Huntington Dodge used parts off of your new car to diagnose and fix others? Then reordered parts to put back on? I've been to that place a couple of times, once to look at a Challenger, and the other time to look at a 1500. Both times within a matter of minutes, I walked right out.

5 Star my friends.

I had my fuel filler problem fixed yesterday; took 20 minutes. I had 2800 miles on my 2010 and a rocker bar broke on the head. I was pretty upset but everything is perfect now. I hope you get satisfaction.
