Default instrmt. upgrade for tach

Can a cluster with a tach be installed in dash in place of the factory cluster without a tach? Will all the gauges and warning lights operate correctly? 1999 Ram 1500 Quad 5.2L Auto w/OD. I found lots of clusters on ebay but from different years and models. ; rams, duragos, dakotas.

As long as you as you get the correct dash for the year, yes it will work. From what I have heard from others, it's already wired up so it's a simple swap. Remember 94-97 is one type and 98-01 is another type of cluster.
