I just bought a Predator and tuned my truck last night. I love the quick punchy power it has. I absolutely HATE the MDS. Not only does it constantly shift back and forth, it sounds like crapola with my exhaust system. Ive read there is a way to disable the MDS using the tuner but I think I will use the + - method. I always felt as if the truck with the MDS activated went into an overdrive gear and when I would keep it in 5th I could feel and hear the rpm's were higher. Does the 2010 have an overdrive and if so, by pressing the + - buttons, does that allow the truck to shift into overdrive while disabling the MDS??

Its better to get a programmer and turn it off bc if notice while your in 5th your RPMs stay kinda high but when move the shifter over again it kick into overdrive i guess you would say your RPMs drop but MDS comes on. But with the programmer you still get that extra gear but no MDS.

I live in eastern Pa and I have the 5.7 mega cab and I have no problem with gas mileage. I used to run a 4.7 for 3 years and my gas mileage sucked. Bigger engine heavier truck you would assume less mileage more money. That was very wrong. I get at least 3 - 7 more miles to the gallon and don't have to gas up as often. I would never go back to the 4.7. Nice little engine but not a money saver by any means. I like my MDS. If I want to make my baby sing I have my ways.

Slightly different on the 2012. The one to the left needs to be followed by one to the right ---> - then + as when you hit it left it selects 5, so to get full 6 speeds you need to hit it to the right after. I tried this yesterday and it never hit MDS and seemed way more responsive. Also I noticed my mpg avg went up from 15.3 to 16.0 over a 60 mile mixed driving run (my usual) but that could be a coincidence.....my truck is coming up on 1K miles so is loosening up a bit which could account for the increase, but then again it could also be that I'm using Shell fuel as opposed to Holtzman (local distributor to my other gas station)......just telling it straight.

Good info, was just coming here to ask if anyone had any updates for the 12, thanks!

Also had a question about MDS when in Cruise Control. Does it kick in or does cruise disable it? Seems like an odd question I know, but on my first highway road trip last weekend, when I had it in cruise, the ECO sign was not displayed.

My '12 certainly goes into MDS, ECO on, when in cruise when conditions allow it. Unless you had a constant head wind or such, you should have seen it "on" at some time. Were you in the dash guage mode that lets you see the "ECO" symbol? Don't know if you have EVIC and I'm not familiar with its options. My standard dash has an "ECO" display mode that you have to scroll to by the steering wheel button.

Forgot to add that you do have to be in top gear, 6th, and the tow haul mode is off.
