Default Exhaust Questions! Single Can I put dual??

I have the Hemi with the single exhaust that dumps out the passenger side.

Looking to buy an exhaust system. Can I go with a dual exhaust?

Absolutely you can. You can pick up any kit that dual exit; it'll most likely be a single-in dual out muffler and then you just choose where you want it to dump, sides, rear, before the wells, what ever you want.

Only problem is what about the resonator? I have the same single/single exhaust and would like to do dual outlet, but since I love how quiet this truck is as far as road noise, I think any exhaust "drone" would be an issue. Would keeping the one inline resonator be ok? Or would that create back pressure issues?

Get a complete kit that includes the resonators.

If you go from single to dual out the back, do you need to change the bumper out too? Or is there enough clearance?

No need to change the bumper unless you want the factory look, in which case you get the factory exhaust or install aftermarket for a lot less and get same if not better results.

If you just swap out the muffler and install the pipes out, you'll still have the stock upstream resonator (i believe the 4th gens have a separate resonator), but if not, then a cat-back kit like a Borla or Corsa which handles the MDS drone, will get you what you want. My kit is pretty nice when it comes to the MDS drone, the GF still complains it's too loud though (she drives a caliber, what does she know )

No need to change the bumper, kits are designed to either dump in stock locations, or to come out under the bumper if you want rear outlets. My borla had no issues with the stock bumper, but my roll pan is another issue all together, I may have melted into the urethan on that one

if you want to take off a resegnator then only take off one. i had an o6 hemi and i removed both resegnators and when the mds kicked in it sounded like crap! i just bought a 10' hemi and i will not be taking off the resognators. and i wouldnt pay all that money for the exhaust kits. what i do is just buy a muffler online (i bought a super 44) also buy some tips that you like. maybe 4" echo tips or something like that. it all depends on the sound and loudness you want. then just take those up to your local muffler shop and have them bend some pipe and install the mufler and tips. youll save alot by not buying everything there. and yes there is enough clearence for the pipes to come out. i wouldnt come out too far (1/2") cuz they will end up getting stepped on... made that mistake once before.
