Default 4x4 not disengaging

Hi, I'm new to this forum - hope y'all can help-
I have a 2002 Ram 1500 4x4 & drove approximately 60 miles in the snow yesterday in 4Hi - had no problems until I shifted back to 2wd. When I did I was running approximately 5 mph & it sounded like the truck didn't shift completely out of 4Hi & makes a grinding sound when I accelerate. Shift back to 4Hi & it runs smooth again. What will cause this?

Wish I could help... sounds bad. I know you can help me though.... I removed the power steering cooler in front of my radiator and can't remember how to hook up the hoses again. Does the hose coming from the power steering reservoir connect to the bottom or the top of the cooler?

Sounds like a problem with either the shift motor or the range hub inside the case. Got any codes stored in the TCCM?
