Default Truck died in the middle of the road

I'm at a stop light waiting for the thing to turn green and as i'm waiting i notice the truck starting to increase in rpm's, as if i'm pressing down on the throttle, the only problem with that is, i'm not stepping on it! Having to apply more brake pressure to keep it from moving.

So, light turns green, i start going and the damn thing is surging on me at 30 MPH. Not too long after that, the truck dies.

Cycled the ignition 3 times and popped up the p1693 code. The one that i didn't want to see. Started up the truck again, and decided to hook up a code reader to it, and found another code, which is the p0121. Said sensor is either open, or shorted.

I already have a BD lift pump on order as a result of this, but am stuck wondering... would one code cause another malfunction in the system, throwing another code?

What do i do? Help please!

So, i used alldata and used the ladder tree they have. Found out one of the wires from the ecm to the TPS sensor is shorting out. How often does this happen or how likely is it, that this is the true problem?

Anyone out there know?

I should also note that the sensor should have the full 5 volts at WOP. I only have 3.5 at WOP.

I'm running out of ideas... and hope.

I'm not too sure, but I thought I'd inform you that in the morning more people will chime in, not many night owls unlike us.

Yeh, but like Alex said more people will be getting on here in a few. I can almost guarantee someone will chime in with a little more experience than me to help you out. I'm on here all sorts of crazy hours too, check out my handle under my name haha.

Alright, so i found a TPS sensor on a site for half the price it sells at auto parts stores. Way better than the three hundred plus or so they're asking for it.

Will install it as soon as i get it and let ya'll know how it goes for future reference.
