Default 2010 hemi sport/dual exhaust

what are some of you guys using for cat-back systems on your
'10 hemi 1500?
I'm looking for better performance and MPG , this truck comes with duals but they seem a bit restricted.

you can have a muffler shop pull the resonators gives the hemi a lower rumble more power and better fuel economy.

hope this helps!

I'll offer up some info from my research, but I haven't tried it out firsthand yet...

Basically the major restrictions are the Y-pipe, and the stock muffler. Together they work ok, but if you replace one, then it's best to replace the other.

I'm looking at the Magnaflow dual 2.5" to single 3" Y-pipe, and then the Borla Pro XS 3" single inlet to dual 2.5" outlet. Reason being, it appears that more torque is made by keeping the backpressure in the exhaust, and on a flow chart, the Borla Pro XS really surprised me.

Sad part is you can see from a few posts of mine, I've changed this setup about 10 times now. But everytime I research a bit, more is uncovered. Seems to most people it's all about what you want your truck to sound like, but I'm all about bang for the buck.

Here is that chart in case anyone else wants to compare theirs:

I have the mufflex dod18 mufffler. Which uses the magnaflo muffler. I love it! Do not take the resonators off because when the eco kicks on..it sounds like crap. My 2 cents ;-)

I'd go with a system that has resonators so that the MDS drone doesn't chase you out of the cab.

chithead has it right in that the basic restrictions are the Y pipe and the mufflers. I'd replace those and use your stock tailpipes. The resonators are not restrictive. They are just a hollow can that attenuate exhaust gas pulses to cut back on the resonance.

chithead, great research. Curious as to how those charts compare with the stock duals.
