Default gen 4 cam swap 1000 mile initial review

As some of you guys know Ive recently installed a mild cam with a diablo custom tune. Im currently monitering it and at 1000 miles since install. Its been 7 days since the mod and warm ups in 20 degree mornings is normal as was before. The drivability and manners is as oem as I can remember. Its almost as if Ive never installed one, its that good. The power has definitely changed as I do carry alot of payload thru the week. Pull off is much easier and I seem to see a slight increase in mileage. Im currently monitoring that. Ive got over 15000 miles on this truck with 600 hours since this past august. That said I do alot of city driving and much welcome this added torque it has given me. Im not gonna make a conclusion on mileage for at least another 1000 miles, but Im confident to say this has easily been my best mod yet personally. I was able to do a pull (abandoned airport ) to show how the torque helps with our trucks. To anyone on the fence on doing a cam swap, count on me to post updates as needed. Till drag season this is all I have for now, 1-10 ,Id rate the launch a 5

Not much. Trying to decide on a cam still. Posted my choices/dilemna in the gen 3 vs gen 4 head thread. Kinda nervous about some p and p heads b/c I don't want to lose any low end. Need to talk to the arrington guys and see what they think. I'm ready to pull the trigger on both tho and what I find out.

Your truck is running awesome. J/k about the music.

I read that... loosing low end? If you mean torque, you might end up with more than you need bro its best to talk them of course, or any engine shop for that matter and make a decision. Smart money tells me to do shorty srt8 headers first, and Im currently workng with someone up in delaware about possible purchase/install of his and bring it to HHP for retune which is 15 minutes from his house. Then again Id like to do your route also. If I had to make a guesstimate, stage 1 heads, and cam...youre looking at 395-400wtq/360whp conservatively, just a guess. Arrington advertises 'up to 107 hp with TB, heads, cam' but I gotta assume thats at the crank, and with more aggresive heads, and cam from the drop down menu. Could also mean with someone with a CAI, headers. IDK.. so I dont expect as much but if it over achieves..even better! Man it pulls like a freight train with just the cam mod as you can see at 377wtq, happy as hell man. With me adding srt8 shortys to compliment my cam Im hoping just under that with a conservative tune. Yeah thanks for the props, I cant wait to bolt on my Generals for the spring

thanks, Im very happy with the install. The added torque really makes it feel alot quicker but I will know for sure by how much once the track opens up to see how much Ive gained in this mod. Tom I drove down to Arrington (shophemi) in martinsville, va to get their hemi grind installed. The cam is comparable to the "baby spartan eagle" that inertia motorsports offer, its a mild cam. http://www.shophemi.com/p-1252-2009-...-camshaft.aspx

I was wondering if you got someone down in southern Md. to do the install . I know theres a bunch of hemi/SRT8 guys down there . Theres a guy named Bill who seems to be doing all the cam installs down there .
