Default Recon Tailgate bar

I have a recon tailgate bar and it is hard wired in. The running light on it will not work. The turn signals and brake light work, but not if the running/head lights are on. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? I am pretty sure it is wired correctly. Any help would be appreciated.

Bad splice?
Broken wire after splice?
Find the running light wire use a jump-it or another 12volt source and see if it lights up. If it doesnt light, you may have a broken wire closer to the unit. Led's normally dont burn out or break easily.

My guess is a bad connection/splice/ground or wired to the wrong wire you thought was the running light. (not doubting you, just covering the bases!)

Good luck.

I actually re-wired the end on it and plugged it directly into the 4 pin trailer plug.....Same thing. I just dont know if I have a short in the wiring somewhere or if the light bar has a short in it. Thanks for the help though.

Check for power on ur hitch harness.. maybe its not the bar. maybe that running light wire is defective in the harness (unlikely but check anyway.)

If you rewired the plug, apply voltage straight to the running light lead on the bar. see what happens.

I am having the same problem. I just now read this far in the posts and already posted a the same question. When I turned off my fog lights it kind of worked. Have you had any luck on this issue? I see it has been a few months.
