Exclamation Cam Question

I'm rebuilding my 99 5.9l and I was thinking about putting a bigger cam in it because from what I've been reading the stock cams "chokes" the engine at higher rpms. So my question is... If I get a bigger cam can I just use a superchips flashpaq to make it run right or do i have to flash it? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm new to dodge and v8 engines.

Forgot to say I am also boring the block. I'm guessing a superchip wouldn't be able to tune for that? Would sct work?

Any cam that opens up top end performance will sacrifice low end torque to do so. Since trucks are inherently heavy, building a motor to make torque is preferable.

You may need a custom flash. I'd talk to the B&G Performance folks. They can custom write one for you based on your specs, cam profile, timing settings, etc...

SCT would work. Superchips would not.
