Default crappy tires

I hope one day ralph nader or a u.s. senate comittee investigate the crappy quality of tires installed on vehicles at the factory. we deserve better for ourselves and our kids safety.back to the op question, my tire guy says he has installed michelin ltx m&s on three sports in the last month. I ran these on my S blazer years ago and loved them.

I actually was pleasantly surprised at the performance of the factory tires in the snow.. I have a steep snow covered driveway and I always come up in 2wd. They can't be that bad.

I had a set of these Michelin LTX M&S on a Tacoma I had several years back and they were good, quiet and grabbed well on wet roads. My only complaint was they were a bit plain. My last set were Nitto Terra Grapplers. Loved those tires but they went away with my Tundra last year. I'll replace the stock tires with these again I believe when the time comes (or when the kids need a new tire swing ).

I've have the LTX on my Dakota now and have been very happy with them. I suppose one could that they have very soft rubber, but those are the same qualities that make them good in snow & icy conditions. I get about 3 or 4 years out of them, which I feel is respectable. On my second set.

That Dakota came with Goodyear eagles, and I took them off during the first winter. Horrible tire in snow. I'm not looking forward to the Goodyear tires that come with the new Ram. No doubt they will suck, given all the bad press on the forum. I wish the factories would select a more suitable tire.

I was out yesterday playing in the snow along an irrigation canal (frozen of coarse) when all of a sudden the trail came to an end. Oops so next thing you know I am out in the middle of a plowed snow covered wheat field. Drove for a bit but decided against it but only because I did not want a pissed off farmer chasing after me. Again the stockers worked fine for the umteenth time

Lol. I usually hate stock tires and am quick to change them. I really think these are pretty good. Will I put another set on. No probably not but for stock tires I'm happy. I think sometimes people have unrealistic expectations of what a tire should do. Then they spend a fortune on new rubber and you want to think they are way better to validate the purchase.

Nice, is that a standard option from dealers in Canada?
