Default 1500 towing

OK, so I'm looking at a 2011 1500 ST quad cab. Ads say capable of 10,450 lbs properly equiped. Does not say what that is. Anyone know what it takes to achieve that? Also is that realistic? Can't say much positive for the site.

Thanks

It all depends how the truck is configured. Here's a link to the Dodge Body Builder's guide, you can play around with it to see what will do what.

I'm able to open the PDF file but for some reason the links don't work.

I got the chart printed out in front of me....

2011 ST Quad Cab...

3.7L V6:
3.55: 3,450lbs/8,500lbs
3.92: 3,450lbs/8,500lbs

4.7L V8:
regardless of tire size and gear ratio: 7,300lbs/12,500lbs

5.7 HEMI:
regardless of tire size:
3.21: 6,750lbs/12,000lbs
3.55: 8,750lbs/14,000lbs
3.92: 10,250lbs/15,500lbs

Note: Each one of those numbers is for max trailer weight/trailer GCWR and they are rounded down to the nearest 50lbs for max trailer weight.

Hope this helps out some.

It looks like the previous replies provided you the actual specs.

If you really will be towing amounts in the 10,000 lb range on a regular basis, I suggest looking at the 2500s if possible as the 1500 may not be the best suited for frequent towing of such amounts. It can do it but it may test your patience, expectations and reduce the life of your truck.
