Default HELP 4 wheel drive

So I put my truck into four wheel drive tonight for the first time since I bought it. It worked fine so long as I drove in a straight line. The moment I made a hard turn at 1 mph the front wheels locked up. I went back to two wheel drive, no problem, then back into 4 wheel and she won't go forward w/the wheels turned.

Dealership is two minutes away so off I went. Now more frustrated then ever. He says that's perfectly normal in the rain? WTH? He says to try it in the gravel..and he went on about tire rotation being different and it starts to slip yada yada.....So I bought a 4 wheel drive truck that only drives straight in the rain? My previous 4 wheel vehicles never had this issue...

Has anyone else had this issue?

not sure I understand what you mean by full steering lock? It lets me turn the wheels but truck just sputters and doesn't go, although if I mash the gas it moves forward a little...but basically need to take it out of four wheel drive...

The 4x4 should only be used on snow , ice or loose road surfaces . Maybe the 4x4 function wasn't working correctly in your other vehicles .

I've only tried mine a couple of times however it did feel kind of weird when turning. Didn't think too much since I was on dry pavement however once we get some snow I will be giving it a real test.

Front wheels while in 4wd need to be able to skip while in a hard turn. Rain doesn't offer them much to skip on.

Like the dealer said, try it on gravel or a loose dirt road.

This is why I like vehicle specific forums, thanks for all the quick responses. I will have to try the gravel thing to see if there's a difference. In my other vehicles it just never fully locked up like this. I only tried it in the rain as a quick test as I was planning on going through the snow this weekend and wanted to make sure it was working, so much for the test theory, I will have to test it on gravel.
