Default Make a wiring adapter to convert 4 pin trailer lights to 7??

On my truck, I currently have a just a regular old 4 pin wiring harness for trailers. My question is, does anyone have an directions to make a harness that will allow my 4 pin on my truck hook up to a 4 pin that is wired to a 7 pin plug to install on my truck. I know this is confusing as hell how I am wording it, but I am not sure how to explain it.

Basically I want to make an adapter like this:

4 pin-------wiring-------7 pin

I realize trailer brakes and that jazz won't work, but this will still allow me to hook up a trailer with a 7 pin plug on it to my truck and have lights. I am not sure how to make this adapter?

Any help with my confusing cluster of a post?

Thanks!

OR does anyone know how to wire it into a 7 pin, if I cut off the 4 pin?

I bought a ready made adapter like this from Lowes. It goes from a flat 4 pin to a female 7 pin and fits the punch out plate in the bumper. I bought one and it works perfectly, just no trailer brakes. Hope this helps you.
