With everyone suggesting replacing the stock head unit, my ?? is are you guys running the stock U-Connect? If I was to replace the head unit would I be able to utilize the U-Connect still as hands free? Assuming it is all bluetooth technology, but having it pipe through the stereo as opposed to a headset is much better imo.

Here ya go. I would recommend putting some power to them, the stock head unit will run them but if you don't use an amp you are better off with the stock speakers. There is nothing you have to modify to install these.

Great, thanks for the info. I thought those were the speakers but wanted to be sure before I ordered them. I've already got a new head unit on the way, pioneer 3200BT and i'll definitely be adding an amp to power the four door speakers (one capable of at least 75wx4 rms). I've already got a set of polk 3.5's for the dash. I'm assuming with your set up your amp is only powering the doors and you're letting the head unit power the dash speakers?

Yes, that is correct. The 8200BT is putting out 14w per channel RMS and the 3.5's will sound just fine with that power. This amp with do just fine w. the 6x9's in the doors and it's only $100 bucks.

I'd like to know also. That's my main issue with changing the head unit. I don't wan tot have to add a mic etc...

Depending on what aftermarket head unit you choose and what wiring harness you find. If not, running a simple mic to anywhere in the cab is not that big of a deal

The dxi690 6"x9" are the older model also. The new model is 691. I just got 2 pair of MM691's for $200. Should be here in a few days.

I'm having a hell of a time finding an amp that's 4x125/150 rms that isn't $800 . Any thoughts or suggestions? The MM's go 125w rms, so I want at least as much or a little more from the amp.

JL Audio makes a nice 4 channel amp with 150W RMS @ 4 ohms. It's the model HD600/4. Saw one on Amazon recently for $530 + shipping.

Kenwood's XR-4S is rated at 120W @ 4 ohms, 150W @ 2 ohms. This unit normally sells for around $300 to $350
